They have both stared in iconic films about boxing, albeit it many years ago.
But by the looks of it Robert De Niro and Sylvester Stallone still have what it takes to pack a great punch.
The veteran actors were spotted both sporting battered and bruised faces on the set of their new boxing film Grudge

Rocky star Sylvester, who is the younger at 66 to De Niro’s 69, looked like he had got off the lighter of the pair as he was spotted with just a small cut above his right eye.
Raging Bull actor Robert looked a little more battered as he sported a nasty gash on his nose.
Dressed in blue dressing gowns, both of the actors wore shorts and their bare legs could be seen, which showed signs of aging.

On their feet they both wore boxing shoes, while Robert wore bandages on his hands.
There has already been a lot of hype surrounding the film due to the fact both of the actors have played such iconic boxers in their youth.
A Hollywood insider told the Mirror: ‘This has all the makings of a classic. Not only have you got two of the biggest names in Hollywood, but you've got the lead roles in the two most famous boxing films of all time.

‘Getting Jake Lamotta and Rocky Balboa to square up after all these years is absolute genius, and I'm sure a lot of people are very excited about the prospect of watching them slugging it out.’
Sylvester was spotted on set at the beginning of the year on set wearing a wig while being escorted out of what looks like a courthouse by a couple of police officers.
It is unclear exactly what will happen in the film, however judging by Segal’s other films – 50 First Dates and Anger Management, it is likely to be a comedy. Hard word: De Niro was seen sweating quite a lot as he got out of a vehicle with wet hair
So far all is known is that a pair of aging boxing rivals are coaxed out of retirement to fight one final bout - 50 years after their last match.
Rocky, which made Sylvester a star back in 1976, scooped three Academy Awards and earned $225m at the international box office.
Raging Bull meanwhile which starred De Niro as Jake LaMotta earned him an Oscar, so both of the actors are more than apt to play boxers in their latest film.

Kim Bassinger has been cast alongside the legendary actors and will play a former love interest of De Niro's.
Grudge Match is expected to be released at some point in 2014.
